What a skill is

A skill is a playbook you hand Claude once. It holds our instructions, our brand rules, and examples of what good looks like. After that, Claude uses it automatically whenever it's relevant — you just ask for what you need, in plain English.

1

Add the skill

Upload it once in Claude's settings.

2

Ask in plain English

Say what you need, like you'd tell a coworker.

3

Get on-brand work

Claude writes it our way, every time.

Set up

Two paths. Pick yours.

Path A

I run an office

  1. 1Sign in at claude.ai (Pro plan or above).
  2. 2Go to Settings → Capabilities and turn on Code execution and file creation (skills require it).
  3. 3Go to Customize → Skills and click Upload skill.
  4. 4Upload the skill's ZIP file (download buttons in The Skills below).
  5. 5Open a new chat and ask in plain English — e.g., "Write a caregiver job ad for our Knoxville office, $17–19/hr, weekend shifts." Claude finds the right skill automatically.

Path B

I'm on the corporate team

  1. 1On the Enterprise plan, an Owner goes to Organization settings → Skills and enables Code execution and file creation and Skills.
  2. 2Owners can provision skills organization-wide — uploaded once, they appear automatically for every user.
  3. 3Optional: enable the sharing toggles so offices can share skills they create with the network.

Note: The Care Plan Drafter runs only in our HIPAA-eligible Enterprise workspace — never in a personal account.

The skills

Eight skills, one voice.

# Prefer Care AI — Claude Skill Library (v1)
Eight starter skills for the Prefer Care at Home network, built with Zingage.

## How this works
- Each folder is one skill. Upload the folders to your Claude Enterprise workspace (Skills), or paste a SKILL.md into a Project's instructions.
- Every skill reads brand/BRAND.md first. Update the brand file once; every skill follows.
- Corporate tier: deck-builder, training-course-builder, brand-voice-editor, franchise-development.
- Office tier: job-ad-writer, client-family-comms, hiring-interview-kit, care-plan-drafter.
- care-plan-drafter runs ONLY in the HIPAA-eligible Enterprise workspace.

## How the library grows
Owners will invent better prompts than we will. When an office builds something good, corporate reviews it against BRAND.md and promotes it network-wide. The best office's playbook becomes everyone's.

README.md — the library overview. To install a skill: save its file as SKILL.md inside a folder named after the skill, zip the folder, and upload under Customize → Skills.

Made with Client & Family Communications

This one doubles as the network's introduction letter for the new phone assistant.

"Write a letter to our clients and families introducing our new phone assistant."

Dear families,

For over forty years, our promise has been simple: we care for those you care about. That promise is why we're writing today.

Starting soon, when you call our office, you may be greeted by our new phone assistant. It can help with the everyday things — confirming a visit, checking a schedule, taking a message — quickly, at any hour of the day or night.

Here is what will not change. Your care team is still your care team. The caregivers you know are still the ones walking through the door. And you can always reach a person: just say so on any call, and the assistant will connect you to our staff right away.

We're making this change so our team can spend less time at a desk and more time doing what we do best — caring for your loved one.

If you have any questions, call us anytime. We'd love to hear from you.

Made with Brand Voice Editor

"Rewrite this for our website."

Before

Prefer Care at Home leverages industry-leading caregiver resources and best-in-class processes to maximize client satisfaction outcomes. Contact us today to optimize your loved one's care journey!

After

For forty years, we've cared for those you care about. Our caregivers are chosen with the same care we'd use for our own family — and we're here whenever you need us. Call us today. We'd love to help.

What changed:

  • Led with the family and our heritage instead of process language
  • Replaced jargon ("leverages," "optimize," "outcomes") with plain, warm words
  • Dropped the exclamation mark; warmth comes from the words, not the punctuation
Made with Training Course Builder

An excerpt — the full skill produces the complete course, quizzes, facilitator guide, and a printable job aid.

"Turn our caregiver call-out SOP into a training module for new office staff."

Module 2 of 4 — When a caregiver calls out

You'll be able to: handle a call-out calmly, protect the client's care, and keep everyone informed — in under fifteen minutes.

A call-out isn't an emergency; it's a moment your process is built for. First, thank the caregiver for telling you — you want people to call early, and how you respond decides whether they do next time. Then shift to the client: what does today's visit need, and who can cover it? Your assistant will open the shift and begin outreach; your job is judgment — approving the match and deciding what the family needs to hear.

Watch out for: updating the family before coverage is confirmed. Lead with the plan, not the problem — "Maria can't make it today, and Denise, who has visited before, will be there at 9."

Check your knowledge

A caregiver calls out at 6 a.m. for an 8 a.m. shift. What's your first move? A. Ask why they're calling out · B. Thank them and confirm the shift details · C. Call the family immediately Answer: B — protect the habit of early notice; the details make the rest possible.

Coverage isn't confirmed yet and the daughter calls asking about today's visit. You say — A. "We have a call-out, we're working on it" · B. "Everything's fine" · C. "We're arranging today's coverage now and I'll call you back by 8:30 with the caregiver's name" Answer: C — honest, calm, and specific beats vague reassurance in both directions.

Every example above came from one sentence and one skill. Imagine your office's version — then send us the good ones, and the best get promoted to the whole network.

One file governs everything.

Every skill reads BRAND.md before it writes a word — our colors, our voice, our rules. The corporate creative team owns it. Change it once, and every skill across the network follows.

# Prefer Care at Home — Brand Reference
Every Prefer Care AI skill reads this file first. If an output would violate this reference, fix the output — never the reference. The corporate creative team owns this file; skills inherit changes automatically.

## Who we are
Family-founded in 1984 by Frank and Jody Guerrieri. Three generations of family caring for families. Locally owned offices, nationally supported. Tagline: **"We care for those you care about."**

## Voice
- Warm, personal, plain-spoken. Write like a caring neighbor, not a corporation.
- Lead with the person, not the service. Families and caregivers first; features second.
- Dignity always: seniors are people with full lives — never "the elderly," never a burden, never fear-based marketing.
- No corporate filler, no jargon, no exclamation marks, no hype words ("revolutionary," "cutting-edge").
- Short sentences. Say the caring thing plainly.
- We say: "your loved one," "our caregivers," "we're here." We never say: "clients are assets," "resource utilization," "headcount."

## Color palette (use exactly these)
- **Lime green #8DC63F** — primary accent: buttons, key numbers, checkmarks. One accent moment per page or slide.
- **Deep forest #2F4A2C** — headlines on light backgrounds, dark section backgrounds.
- **Warm cream #F7F6F1** and **white #FFFFFF** — backgrounds; alternate for rhythm.
- **Soft sage #E8EFDD** — callout fills, card tints.
- **Charcoal #2D2D2D** — body text.
- Never red, orange, or purple. Green is the brand.

## Typography
- Headlines: a warm serif (Fraunces or closest available). Sentence case, 8 words or fewer.
- Body: a clean humanist sans (Inter or closest available). Generous line height.
- Key numbers set large, in lime green.

## Imagery
Real warmth: caregivers and seniors together, gardens, homes, natural light, genuine smiles. Never sterile stock offices, never medical-fear imagery (IVs, hospital corridors), never lonely-senior imagery.

## Layout rules
- Generous whitespace. One idea per page or slide. Left-aligned text.
- Rounded cards, soft shadows, thin lime accent bars.
- The PCAH logo appears top-left on documents and decks; never stretched, never recolored.

## Compliance lines (include where relevant)
- Franchise materials: "Each office is independently owned and operated."
- Employment materials: PCAH corporate neither dictates nor controls labor or employment matters for franchisees and their employees.
- Never include client names, health details, or photos without written consent. No PHI outside the HIPAA-eligible workspace.

To install: save this as BRAND.md alongside your SKILL.md inside the skill folder, zip the folder, and upload under Customize → Skills.
